Terms of use
Version 2026-10-07.2. Please read these together with the privacy notice.
1. About Reroute
Reroute is a free, not-for-profit service that helps people in New Zealand look for work and take the next step in their careers. It's run by a volunteer, and it isn't affiliated with any employer, recruiter, job site or government agency.
2. Accepting these terms
You need to accept these terms and the privacy notice before you can use Reroute. We keep a record that you accepted them, as the privacy notice explains. If we change either document, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you carry on.
3. Who can use Reroute
You must be 16 or older and sign in with your own Google account. Use Reroute for your own job search only.
4. What Reroute does, and its limits
- Reroute uses artificial intelligence (AI) to review your CV and write an improved version, suggest career directions, compare your CV with job ads, draft cover letters, CV bullet points and emails, help you prepare for interviews, check job ads for signs of a scam, and answer your questions through the assistant.
- The assistant only acts inside your own Reroute account. It can save jobs and update your application statuses when you ask, but it never deletes anything, applies for jobs, sends emails or contacts anyone for you.
- AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check everything before you rely on it or send it to an employer, including every figure and [placeholder] in an improved CV. You're responsible for what you submit.
- Fit scores, scam checks and suggestions are a guide only. A job that passes a scam check can still be a scam. Reroute can't guarantee interviews, job offers or any other outcome.
- Reroute isn't professional careers, legal, financial or immigration advice. For questions about your employment rights or entitlements, talk to your employer, your union, Employment New Zealand or Citizens Advice.
5. Your content
- Your CV, job ads, notes and drafts stay yours. You let us process them only to provide the service to you, as the privacy notice explains.
- Only add information you're entitled to share. Please don't include other people's personal details, such as your referees' phone numbers.
- If you rate Reroute, your feedback is kept anonymously and permanently, so please don't put personal details in it. We may use it to improve Reroute.
6. Fair use
You agree not to:
- try to access anyone else's information, or break, overload or get around Reroute's security or usage limits
- use bots, scripts or other automated tools to access Reroute
- try to make the AI ignore its instructions, or use Reroute to create harmful, misleading or unlawful content
- use Reroute for someone else's job search or for any commercial purpose.
Reroute has fair-use limits on how much AI each account can use, to keep it free for everyone. Normal use stays well within them. We may suspend access if these terms are broken.
7. Job sites and other websites
Reroute doesn't search, link to or visit job sites or employers' websites for you. You find jobs yourself, and to check a job you paste or upload the ad. We don't control other websites, their content or their terms. Watch out for job scams: genuine employers won't ask you to pay to apply, or ask for bank or ID details before making an offer.
8. Availability
Reroute is provided free and as is. We work to keep it running and secure, but it may be unavailable, change or stop at any time. When demand is very high, the AI features may pause for a while; everything else keeps working. Download anything you want to keep.
9. Responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss that results from using Reroute or relying on what it produces. This doesn't take away any rights that New Zealand law gives you and that can't be signed away.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Reroute and delete your information at any time with "Delete all my data" in your account menu. The record that you accepted these terms is kept for 365 days, as the privacy notice explains.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version is shown at the top of this page, and you'll be asked to accept any new version before you carry on using Reroute.
12. New Zealand law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
