Questions

Good to know

Is Reroute really free?

Yes. It's a not-for-profit community project with no ads and no paid upgrades, and we never sell your information. Gentle fair-use limits in the background keep it free for everyone; most people never notice them.

Who is it for?

Anyone in New Zealand looking for their next step: changing direction, returning to work, or exploring new roles and industries.

What happens to my CV?

Its text is sent to Reroute and reviewed by AI. Before it's sent, your browser takes out email addresses and New Zealand phone numbers: when you upload a file you'll see this in the text box straight away, and pasted text is cleaned as it's sent. Anything else, like your name, employers or an overseas phone number, is sent as you leave it, so take out anything you'd rather not share. Reroute keeps your review and a profile drawn from your CV (a headline, your years of experience, up to 15 skills, up to 8 achievements taken from your CV, and the sectors you've worked in), which the other steps use. The full text of your CV isn't kept, and it isn't written to logs.

How do I add a job ad?

Copy the ad text from the job site and paste it in, or upload the ad as a file (PDF, Word or text). Reroute never visits job sites for you, so it works the same for every job site and employer.

Can the AI make mistakes?

Yes. Reroute gives you a strong starting point, but always check letters, emails and advice before you use them.

How do I delete my information?

Choose “Delete all my data” in your account menu at any time. Your information is also deleted automatically after 90 days without a visit. The privacy notice lists the few things kept for a set time, like your record of accepting the terms.
